OH RAQUEL LOL
Meeeep, I can't. I have to write my essay, and probs should get up to date on the multiple Journalism stories I have blar. And you like things multiple times by clicking the little "<3" button like THERE IS NO TOMORROW. HEHE
OMG SO EXCITED CATHERINE YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TOLD ME HEHEHE
You can do it! I believe in you! I really enjoy how we’re still having our little early morning chats despite the fact I’m not on Facebook. Nothing can come between us! <3
I am surrounded with good things. Good people, good ideas, good news, etc. You know when you wake up in the morning, still feeling kinda buzzed from whatever you were doing the night before (NO OF COURSE I DON’T MEAN DRUGS…) I feel like that, but the high is from retreat! It’s not as crazy as it was when I was actually there, but I can still feel it. If you are reading this, and I know you, I appreciate you in my life. And if I see you, I’ll probably tell you that. And mean it.
Other goodness. I got into a college that I didn’t think I was going to get into. I was expecting 4 rejections. Now I’m only expecting 3 :)
Also, being in love is kinda cool ;) We had a wonderful, wonderful day is SF yesterday, but honestly my favorite part was the car ride home. It was cozy.
Lastly, I have yet to hear back from something very important I’m waiting for. Other people got their letters today. I didn’t. I tell Jen…Her response = “I’m sure you got it. Fuck your mailman.” Literally laughed out loud <3
(Also, everyone who played percussion/other musical instruments, GOOD JOB!)
Today, society associates leadership with power, wealth, and prestige. Power promotes authority and control over a group of people. Furthermore, the greater wealth (or material value) that a person possesses, the greater influence he or she has in making decisions for the group of people. Additionally, prestige is recognized by a person’s years of expertise as well as his or hers personal experiences. Therefore, society looks up to individuals like President Barack Obama, Pope Benedict XVI, Oprah Winfrey, Queen Mother Elizabeth II, Manmohan Singh, Jenny Beth Martin, and Lady Gaga. They are some examples of the most influential individuals around the world. However, we fail to realize that there is not a clear definition of leadership. It is not solely based on these three attributes.
Leaders are found in the family unit: father, mother, and older siblings. Leaders are seen in school organizations as managers, producers, coordinators, directors, executive board members, and team players. In music, leaders are conductors, composers, disk jockeys, songwriters, musicians, and technical producers. Again, these do not encompass all the roles of leadership.
Leaders are followers as well as trend setters. I believe that leaders are individuals who truly love who they are. They can improve and embrace their weaknesses; in addition, they strengthen their peers, colleagues, and followers. Undoubtedly, leaders may be role models and friends to others. Still, leaders are not perfect; they always strive to be best they can be. By sharing their gifts and talents plus acting on decisions that are considered as “right” and pure-hearted for their community, these leaders set their own footprint in the sand. Leaders do not strive for fame; these goal-oriented individuals aim for improvement.
